~Who doesn`t want to live forever?

Daily prompt – Eat, Drink and be Merry…

“If you had one more day to live on this earth, what would you do?”

“I`d do what I`d normally do, cause I wouldn`t know when my last day is.”

“But what if you did?”

“Hmm.” I took the last bite of my tuna wrap before dusting my hands on the tray. “Well, I guess I`d call up and write to everyone I love. Try to visit a few of them too. I`d also eat as many sweets as I can, since I`d be dead before I`d become obese anyway. Then, if I knew how I`d die, I`d try to find a way to prevent it, like any happy, rational person probably would.”

Leit hummed. “It is funny. Humans spend so much money and time to lengthen their lives. But without realizing that during doing these things, they are also losing the time life has given them to do other things.”

I shrugged. “It`s all in ones point of view, my friend.” I got up, and Leit followed. He only had a mocha to drink- he loves it too much for his own good. But who wouldn`t? I shrugged to myself. Chocolate and coffee in one cup in a magical cup.

Putting my tray in the dirty tray deposit, the both of us left Backwerk. German`s still too harsh for me to understand and converse in properly, so Leit became my lunch partner after my language classes. I`ve known him for almost two years now, and yet I haven`t seen him eat. Maybe he couldn`t eat what we did?

“Hey. What would you do?” I asked him as we walked past people speaking the language of the country.

“In my culture, we have no such thing as the concept of `death`. We only Change. As for now, I am made up of energy, information, and atoms that make me how I am seen to you. When it is time, I will simply Change into another type of energy and information, using different atoms and its types as building blocks.”

His culture was weird. But I liked hearing about its stories. “Yea, whatever. But what would you do then, before the day of your Change?”

He grinned at me as we waited for a bus to take me back to my apartment, and him where ever he wished to be. “I already know when my day of Change is. As all of my type does. It is fixed for us all. And in this given set of time, I should hope to accomplish what I have planned to do.”

“And what is it that you plan to accomplish?”

“I will only know, when it is my time to accomplish it.”

I rolled my eyes to the bright summer sky. “Sometimes, talking to you gets me nowhere except for a headache.”

“Then you are lucky that your headache comes from me, and not from a cause more severe.”

Bus 73 stopped in front of us. I got in, but Leit remained standing at the bus station. I waved farewell to him, and he waved back with a smile that, if you knew how to read feelings, told you that you had found a friend for life.

~6/6/2015 Happy Donut Day everyone! 😀 Andrej and I are planning (but most probably are not going) to make doughnuts later! My mum, grandma, aunt and SV came to see my house today, and also cooked `nasi goreng` a.k.a. fried rice for us all (including Andrej. He liked the taste, although it was spicy :3 ) We explored Koeln and Duesseldorf yesterday. Well, bis dann, creatures of the wonderful internet!! :*
